Blueprint by Navya and Divya is a design studio based out of Chennai that creates a balance of patterns, silhouettes, and cultural expression. Their designs have graced the ramps of fashion week, been spotted on style icons like Sonam Kapoor, and make regular appearances on Pink Villa and High Heel Confidential. This Indian fashion house is changing the dialogue of the modern Indian women by creating bold pieces that transcend east and west, skewing the lines of traditional and modern.
When I came across their collection, I was instinctively drawn to the bold prints and eclectic representation of art as fashion. One of their premier pieces was the Ikat Kurta Dress. What really stood out to me about the piece is the quality and silhouette. The fabric is light and breathable, which speaks volumes about quality since it’s also quite structured. There is beauty in a design house that takes care of sourcing the right fabrics and Blueprint does just that. I paired the kurta with airy dhoti pants from Bohemian Chic, Zara heels in my favorite shade of cobalt blue, a black bandeau, and nose ring chain from Forever 21 creating an eclectic and stripped down look.
