Spill the Tea

If you know me, you know I’m that bride who is obsessed with curated parties and attention to detail. I love to host and make people feel special because it makes me incredible happy and I cannot think of a better way to spend my time. Weddings are a celebration of the couple, but I also believe they are a celebration of all the people who helped you get to this point, so it was important to me that the first of my wedding events consist of an affair with all the ladies I wanted to celebrate. I am blessed to have 14 bridesmaids and 2 maid of honors, all of whom are the most beautiful human beings ever. These girls have impacted my life in profound ways over the years and I wanted to take the time to let them know just how much they mean to me. Too often, especially during the production of a big fat Indian wedding, the bridesmaids get overlooked in the chaos, when really they are the ones at the heart of this special moment. Having played the role of bridesmaid in the past, I know from experience how much work it can be, especially when the bride goes full on bridezilla, so ladies TREAT YO GIRLS.

Chocolate Angel Cafe & Tea Room is a quaint little venue in Dallas that is perfect for hosting intimate events, especially in the Chantilly Room, which looks straight out of a Jane Austen novel. They provide a delightful spread of petit quiches, tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, assorted fruits, and tomato basil soup accompanied with the most delicious loose leaf tea. They serve the food in courses, followed by dessert which includes scones, chocolate covered strawberries, cake balls, and homemade cookies. Everything was impeccable.

For each of the girls, I compiled little gift boxes filled with personalized mugs, Tazo tea, locally-sourced natural honey off a farm in East Texas, stationary, lavender candles, nail polish, and a little clay pots with wildflower seeds. The flower pots are symbolic of our relationship, so if the flower dies then bye Felicia. (Just kidding)

My tea time outfit consisted of a Lavish Alice steel blue cape blazer, Cremieux powder pink slacks, a Cremieux white blouse, powder pink choker from Boohoo and XXI white mules. Clean, polished, but still a little off beat.

Everything turned out better than I could have imagined and it was a beautiful afternoon with my favorites. I highly recommending doing something special for your girls well before wedding madness takes over. This gives everyone the opportunity to meet and get to know each other, and it creates so many good vibes.

I cannot wait to share the rest of the wedding events with you all 🙂
