Aisle 14: Draped

The Aisle 14 style series continues with the installment called Draped. Draped is all about catching the flow of fabric in a way that is not only aesthetically intriguing, but flattering to the body. Unfortunately in fashion, flattering translates to slimming. However, if you take the weight obsession out of the context, flattering simply means accentuating your shape in a way that eludes, yet does not give away too much. Clothes should celebrate you.

I played around with a few interesting pieces. The top is from H&M, the shoes are from ASOS and necklace is from the amazing MKollection, called Regina, which you can buy off her Instagram @MKollection using the code RIDA10 to get 10% off. The dhoti pants are directly from Mumbai. I loved the idea of a peplum kimono top with crazy drapes pants because the common element is movement. Paired with Nida Rehman’s incredible ability to capture such movement, the flow of the clothing just breathes life.
